Chicago-based non-profit aims to see more than 800 guests at this year’s event to raise funds to bring smiles to local children’s hospitals
CHICAGO – March 21, 2017 – The Holiday Heroes will host its annual fundraiser on Thursday, June 8 at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in River North. Proceeds from the event will support the organization’s cause of bringing smiles to children in frequent and long-term hospital care at Chicagoland hospitals.
This benefit, “Heroes of the Night,” is the largest fundraiser for The Holiday Heroes each year. The non-profit expects to net $250,000 and attract 800 plus attendees at this year’s benefit. This is the gala’s first event at a new location in three years with plans for new entertainment pieces throughout the night as well. Some of Chicago’s biggest companies sponsor the event including Grant Thornton, BMO Harris, Holland & Knight, Armanino, Grubhub, Wintrust, and more.
Guests at this year’s casino-themed gala can expect entertainment casino tables (blackjack, craps, and roulette), live music, Top 40 music by DJ UZO, luxury casino prizes for chip leaders, local restaurants providing heavy appetizers, access to the third floor of the museum, costume characters for photos, magic show by Kyle Marlett all the way from Las Vegas, engaging mixology stations and live auction. The program will kickoff with Jim Cornelison singing the national anthem. The event will be hosted by Mrs. Indiana Hanna Fray. Furthermore, there will be local celebrities and NFL Alumni in attendance.
“I couldn’t be more excited for this year’s gala,” said Bridgette Ferraro, Executive Director of The Holiday Heroes. “This year’s benefit is a culmination of the dedication from our founding members and the hard work our team has put in to revitalize internal processes and create new opportunities for people to get involved.”
The Holiday Heroes’ mission is simple: create parties that bring joy and normalcy to children in long-term hospital care. The nonprofit hosts themed parties complete with snacks, crafts and gifts at Chicagoland children’s hospitals. In 2017 alone, there are nearly 50 hospital parties planned for the year.
“2017 is shaping up to be our most impactful year yet,” Ferraro said. “We updated our website to put the kiddos we serve front and center, and we introduced a junior board to leverage the enthusiasm of Chicagoland teens. And most importantly, we have more hospital parties planned than ever before, which means that we’re bringing smiles where they’re needed most.”
Tickets to “Heroes of the Night” are available here, which include entry into the event, open bar, hearty hors d’oeuvres, casino entertainment and after-party.
