What is a community fundraiser?

A community fundraising event (or third-party event) is an independent event hosted by an individual or organization (schools, companies, families, etc.) within the community with proceeds benefiting Holiday Heroes. It’s a great way to show your support for our organization while raising awareness of our pediatric programs!

How will this guide help me?

This guide was designed with you in mind! We want the planning process for your event to be as easy as possible and for the event to be something you can enjoy. The guidelines in this manual provide everything you need to plan a successful fundraiser for Holiday Heroes.

Where will the money go?

Every single dollar you raise directly supports Holiday Heroes pediatric programs, which we offer at no cost to the patients, families, and medical facilities we partner with. Your donation will allow us to continue to offer these free programs and help us expand our reach to impact as many pediatric patients as we can!

Here are some examples of creative ways to raise funds for Holiday Heroes!

Parties

Do you have an upcoming birthday, anniversary, shower, or bar/bat mitzvah? Consider making a contribution to Holiday Heroes in lieu of personal gifts – and ask your friends and family to do the same. This is a great way to get the kids involved!

Garage Sale

Ask friends and neighbors to clean out their basements or garage for a good cause. Organize a garage sale, and you’ll clean out your house while supporting Holiday Heroes!

Golf Outing

Whether planning a small golf outing with friends and family or an outing for your business, think about making your swing really count and partnering with us to give back to the pediatric patients we serve.

Local Business Gives Back

Are you a local independent business owner, restaurant, or retail owner who is looking to align with a great cause? Whether it is a percentage of proceeds for a week or simply collecting change, you can make a difference while you work.

School Fundraiser

Kids love to help! Have fun with your students while teaching them about the meaning of philanthropy with anything from a coin drive to a read-a-thon. Be creative! We’d love to hear about your school fundraiser ideas and stories.
